More than a decade later, Jobs returns and single-handedly sets a course that will turn the once-tiny startup into one of the world's most valuable companies.

His epic journey blazes a trail that changes technology -- and the world -- forever. JOBS is a riveting story of a true American visionary, a man who let nothing stand in the way of greatness.

Overall, I enjoyed the movie. The actors did a good job with it, I learned some new things, and I was entertained. I'm not sure I would watch it again but it's worth watching once if you're interested in learning about Steve Jobs.

Having read the excellent biography Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, I was anticipating some scenes that never materialized.

Glaring omissions include: Bill Gates visiting Apple HQ shortly after MS announced Windows and Jobs exploding on him, in person, in fact, Gates was not portrayed in the movie at all which is odd for the one Titan who paralleled Jobs rise in the tech industry being sorta Batman to Jobs's Joker.

Jobs dedication to Buddha and meditation which shaped his infatuation for aesthetics. Jobs obsession with collecting records and recordings from Dylan, Beatles, etc These are a few examples but the point is, though Kutcher did an admiral service in the role, and even distilling a movie down to the most significant aspects and occurrences of his life, it is impossible to cram all of the complexities of Jobs's life within Minutes.

It would be much better to have done a episode TV mini-series keeping Kutcher in the Role as the early part of Steve's life prior to Apple going public could have easily filled min alone.

I am always prepared for the worst when seeing "historical" motion pictures, as the film makers always have a vision or agenda that sacrifices actual historical content.

This is a good example. The main takeaway was successful, Steve Jobs was a complex, driven, and not altogether easy person to deal with.

Ashton Kutcher did well in this role, better than I thought was likely. However, this one was clearly a Jobs worship movie, that made too little of the rest of the technological contributions that made personal computer development possible.

And too little was made of Wozniaks great design work. Always frustrating to watch bad history - does it somehow cheapen the story to tell it right?

But the film makers wanted more of a worship movie than a telling of history, so enjoy that for what it is. Definitely worth the rent, and it is a good message about how eccentric personalities are really necessary in shaping a future no-one else would gamble on.

Jobs passing left a huge vacuum in the world of technology, so we will miss him, and wonder how things will evolve from here.

The first time I watched this, I did not like it. Though Ashton Kucher looks almost exactly like Steve Jobs did at least at an earlier age I was not blown away.

After watching the much-more hyped "Steve Jobs" I re-watched and I actually like this one better. Of course, neither holds a candle to the depiction in "Pirates of Silicon Valley.

Jobs overall as a movie is better than the critics. It may not be perfect, but overall in my view it was interesting to watch it.

Ashton Kutcher did a great job as Steve Jobs. Especially, the beginning and ending is sort of inspiring to fellow entrepreneurs and dreamers to always keep innovating.

It would have been enlightening to have seen some more of the deeper details and reasons for some things such as why he had such a drive.

JOBS was mostly an overview of early Apple, so this would have been a good part 1, although there probably won't be a part 2 of this JOBS, thus four stars.

It could have included more from scene one in until at the end of JOBS, and it did not. Now I'm going to read a book on Jony Ive to see if there's some more details in there on the innovation of all the Apple iProducts.

It's not a cheerful movie, as it's slightly dark and intense due to his being driven, with some inspiration here and there. The people who liked his Stanford commencement speech and use iDevices are glad Jobs did not listen to the critics and stop having innovative ideas.

I like all movies and documentaries having to do with Steve Jobs and Apple. As I have a family member who worked for IBM I have always had computers in my house and grew with them.

Other than the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley which is good but does not just talk about Steve Jobs and Apple this movie does.

This movie I feel really shows how Apple really ran from from the beginning of the Apple 2. Anyways Good movie and I suggest it to anyone that wants a good movie about Steve Jobs.

One person found this helpful. While watching this movie, I found myself being a little critical about this and that, you know--all kinds of things, mostly details.

Then I realized: I'm not pressing "pause" OR "stop"! That says something good about this film. I'm sure there are lots of things that aren't accurate, and they can be annoying or distracting.

But this is a movie, not a documentary. As for me, I am glad this movie was made, and I think it's smart and well-conceived. The above statement aside, I am a detail person.

But if you get hung up on these kinds of things, you will not be able to enjoy this very good film. There is a lot of criticism about the film from people who know more about Jobs than I do.

Like not having anything in it about Pixar. Perhaps it should have been titled "Apple," unless maybe that name was taken by some other movie. Simmons and Matthew Modine.

Die Apple-Story

The NSA's illegal surveillance techniques are leaked to the public by one of the agency's employees, Edward Snowden , in the form of thousands of classified documents distributed to the press.

The Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and other experts give their views on the rise, fall and come back of Apple with Steve Jobs at the helm. As Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg creates the social networking site that would become known as Facebook, he is sued by the twins who claimed he stole their idea, and by the co-founder who was later squeezed out of the business.

A man and a woman are compelled, for legal reasons, to live life as a couple for a limited period of time. At stake is a large amount of money.

A young newlywed couple honeymoon in Europe, where obstacles challenge their ability to sustain the marriage. A vacationing woman meets her ideal man, leading to a swift marriage.

Back at home, however, their idyllic life is upset when they discover their neighbors could be assassins who have been contracted to kill the couple.

A mountain climber becomes trapped under a boulder while canyoneering alone near Moab, Utah and resorts to desperate measures in order to survive.

After a man is asked to house sit for his boss, he becomes determined to get closer to the boss's daughter, but events keep unfolding that stop him from achieving his goal.

Jobs had already dropped out due to the high expense of tuition, but was still attending classes with the approval of Dean Jack Dudman James Woods who took him under his wing.

Jobs is particularly interested in a course on calligraphy. He is working for Atari and develops a partnership with his friend Steve Wozniak Josh Gad after he sees that Wozniak has built a personal computer the Apple I.

They name their new company Apple Computer, though Joshua Michael Stern's "Jobs" is like an assembly line for the best moments in the career of Steve Jobs, but seriously lacking in depth, and without much significance.

It is a truly unremarkable biopic of the "master of innovation" as you could possibly imagine. The storytelling is painfully straightforward, covering only the principal events of his professional trials and tribulations, and providing little else beyond what is already public knowledge.

Developing his imagination for computer programming at Atari, Steve Jobs Ashton Kutcher brings in his friend Steve Wozniak Josh Gad to help with the hardware aspect, forming a partnership that would soon lead to the founding and development of Apple Computers, a force within the industry throughout the s.

Steve is not prepared for the financial demands and the ruthless business mentality, and is eventually forced out of the company he began, only to return in the s with a fresh game plan on how to bring Apple back into the public consciousness, and to dominate the industry once again.

It is so intent on covering Jobs' entire corporate career, that it simply reduces his personal life to a footnote. Stern completely glosses over Jobs' personal life, which is essential to any self-respecting biopic.

The entire production feels rushed and slapped together simply to benefit from being the first one out of the gate. To his credit, Kutcher puts forth a good effort, and he undeniably looks the part of Steve Jobs.

Unfortunately, Ashton always looks like he is trying too hard to play the part, and never fully becomes the character he's portraying.

His limitations on the big screen prove to be a major liability. He has developed a screen persona as likable character, which has served him well with numerous TV sitcoms.

Not so much with movies. What emerges is a movie that has "a made for TV" feel, which depicts a self-absorbed creep who stabs everyone in the back to simply to get his way that goes on for two plus hours.

A thoroughly unsatisfying tribute, and we are still left none the wiser as to what made "The Father of the Digital Revolution" beyond what we already know.
