Tom Hanks does a good job of playing Walt Disney - a tough role for anyone but he seems to suit it, so long as you can get past the terrible fake southern accent which is worse than Dick Van Dyke's attempts at an English accent in Mary Poppins.
However the stand-out performance is, surprisingly, delivered by Colin Farrell as Mrs Travers' father. He brings amazing range and emotion to a character that is simultaneously a loving, sweet father and a man caged in by life and personal demons.

Innamorata della protagonista del suo romanzo, tenta di proteggerla in ogni modo [ E questo grazie alla bravura interpretativa degli attori, alla scenografia ben dettagliata stupende, tra l'altro, la sequenza del film in cui si evidenziano le belle immagini con cui il regista John Lee Hancock rende omaggio al famosissimo Parco di divertimenti Disneyland in America ma soprattutto grazie alla oculata [ Pamela Travers, autrice di Mary Poppins, da vent'anni rispedisce al mittente le lusinghe per la cessione dei diritti del suo capolavoro.
Donna intrattabile, evidentemente turbata, viene impersonata da un'ottima Emma Thompson che nei primi minuti riesce a renderla odiabile al punto giusto.
Anche se Tom Hanks non somigliava troppo, fisicamente, a Walt Disney, ne ha fatto un'ottima interpretazione, nei gesti, nei movimenti e nel carattere!

Se da piccoli avete amato il film Mary Poppins ma rimaneste sgradevolmente colpiti dal contrasto fra la prima parte, immaginosa e divertente, e la seconda, scialba e deprimente, Saving mr.
Banks ve ne spiega la ragione: Walt Disney ed i suoi autori dovettero sottostare alle angherie dell'inventrice di Mary Poppins, Pamela Lyndon Travers al secolo Helen Lyndon Goff, per poter acquisire i diritti per [ Credo che il termine giusto per questo film sia dolcezza.
Per lo meno io l'ho ritrovata nell'intreccio tra il presente della narrazione e il passato, e nella recitazione degli attori.
