Movies Like Smiley Face. A sketch comedy movie about the joys and embarrassments of teen sex. I personally thought this movie was hilarious!
It seemed like it was going to be a bit awkward to watch but Anna Farris pulled it off somehow. It captured anxiety perfectly, I have yet to see a film able to capture anxiety in a way that feels most relatable to me, and it had me cracking up.
I thought for being a stoner movie it was well put together, dialogue was fine, good character establishment, I feel the only thing it was lacking was a good ending.
I wanted to see something more from it, I felt like we didn't really get to see Brevin or the roommate come full circle and it would've been nice to finally see why the roommate was so mysterious.
I think I liked this movie because I watched it while stoned, I can relate to the anxiety portrayed in the film, and I can also relate to the undying love I have for my bed.
Overall, if you didn't like it then it's not because it's a bad film, it's maybe just not your type of humor! The movie is supposed to be a comedy,at times it almost makes it.
I know its a story of a potsmoker ,but really, you end up going WTF. The story is like a leaf in the wind it just flits and floats in every direction.
I think maybe the writers were stoned when they wrote it ,as was the crew when they filmed it. Personally I just felt it was lacking all around.
Anna Faris does an amazing job in this movie. Hilarious, adult humor only in that it deals with marijuana and yeah, there's an odd "sex scene" flash in it that you might not want to be responsible for inadvertently sharing with anyone underage, but it is very brief.

Anna Faris is great. She conveys a really likable character who you are really dying to see succeed.
This film offers something different to all the usual stoner flicks and not just because it's unusual to see a woman cast in this kind of role.

It is impossible to say the plot of this film without sounding ridiculous for recommending it but basically 'girl gets really stoned and camera follows her' pretty much sums it up.
