Verified Purchase. Finally grabbed this on Bluray, package is really nice and matches the original Twin Peaks Bluray set as far as quality of package design is concerned.
Only issue there is it's about a half an inch taller than the original set, which makes it look a bit odd sitting next to the original series on a shelf, then again this isn't your typical season of Twin Peaks, so I suppose that's fitting in it's own way.
I won't get into the quality of the show except to say it's very David Lynch, it can be frustrating, it can be funny, it can be violent, it can be nostalgic, difficult to watch and moving Will you like it?
Who knows, I know that as a long time Lynch fan who's been seeing his movies in theaters since The Elephant Man came out, I enjoyed it On a side note it's sad that David Bowie's Phillip Jeffries character couldn't be in the season for obvious reasons it's said he was hoping to be involved , it's really too bad It's what Dougie would do I love, love, love this season of Twin Peaks.
A couple of disappointing things with this purchase, though. The DVD case is plastic, not a fold out cardboard case as the bluray appears to be.
The first time this was delivered, everything looked fine until my husband opened the package to find two of the DVDs rattling around.
They were scratched from broken plastic from the inside of the case that wasn't visible without opening the case. Amazon sent a replacement set without question that arrived the following day.
Although the DVDs were secure and unscratched in this one, there was still damage to the inside plastic case which is disappointing, as it was a gift.
It may be brittle in the cold of the Canadian winter while on the truck, and if it gets tossed around a bit, I can understand why it's breaking.
I'm not going to bother returning this one. Too many resources wasted already. One person found this helpful. I have always loved Twin Peaks, but also David Lynch's movies.
This season tends towards the latter in tone and quality, I think - and is all the better for it. That said, it might not appeal to some of the viewers of the original two seasons of the show, and I'd kind of understand that.
For me though, this was a fabulous and unique trip into the weird and wonderful mind of one the greatest cinematic minds - and added another great layer to the dream that is Twin Peaks.
David Lynch created such an amazing 3rd season for Twin Peaks. The Return was everything I was expecting and more.
I enjoyed many shows this year but Twin Peaks was without a doubt the best This Blue Ray has a bunch of cool new scenes and footage that is great and the quality looks nice to.
If you like David Lynch movies or the old twin Peaks pick this up asap, it is well worth it! Hope they do more! Love it!
I was worried it wouldn't be the right region because it was an import but it works fine in my bluray player, the region is compatible with canadian players.
The only thing I wish would be different is maybe the packaging wouldn't of had the slide in holder for the disc, but otherwise very happy with my purchase.
Would not play on either of my 2 Blu-ray players. As it turns out this disc came from the UK unknown to me. This is now the 4th time I have made a reply without any resolution to this issue.
Original Twin Peaks is definitely superior, but I still do enjoy this new season. If you're a fan of David Lynch's other work, you'll likely appreciate this addition to the Twin Peaks universe.
